"Carlessi" reservoir - Romano D'Azzelino, Italy
Hydroelectrical plant
PERIOD: 2014 - 2016

The project involves the installation of a hydroelectric turbine on the adduction piping of the aqueduct entering the "Carlessi" reservoir in the town of Romano d'Ezzelino at the foot of the Grappa massif at an altitude of 163.00 m above mean sea level (the altitude of the of the bottom of the accumulation tank).
The size of the hydroelectric turbine will be determined on the basis of the expected incoming load of 170 l/sec and incoming pressure of approximately 6 atm, and is aimed at the production of low voltage electricity for the existing network managed by ACEA.
To avoid signifi cant repercussions on performance, and consequent strong oscillations in pressure and load, suitable automatically activated deviation systems will be included which, in the case of faults to the operating centre and consequent shut-down of the turbine, will ensure that the passage of water through the pressure reduction valve is restored immediately (even in the total absence of electricity).
The entire system will function completely automatically and will be controlled through electronic microprocessor systems.
