"Cellino Pinedo" hydroelectric power plant - Belluno, Italy
New run-of-the-river hydroelectric station
CLIENT: DERIVAZIONI S.r.l.
VALUE: € 5,574,000.00
This project involved the construction of a new run-of-the-river hydroelectric station (ROR) that exploits the waters of the local Cellina ravine to generate electricity.
Water diverted toward the intake structure is conveyed to the central building through a 2.9 km long duct.
After passing through the turbine in the central building, water is then discharged directly into the Cellina ravine.
The facility, withdrawing an average capacity of 2.24 m3/s at a maximum capacity of 3.41 m3/s, with a drop of 38.62 m, will produce a maximum net power of 1,030 kW with an estimated power generation of 5.8 GWh/ year. The new facility will provide estimated annual savings in the order of 1,300 tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) and 5,100 tonnes of CO2.
