New Publication: How do we design healthcare in a networked system?

Our latest feature in Progettare per la Sanità (@buildnews_) explores the shift from isolated hospital buildings to integrated healthcare networks, through two projects in the Marche region: the Emergency Hub at “Santa Croce” Hospital in Fano and the new healthcare facility in Urbino.

In Fano, the intervention focuses on a new emergency building designed to remain fully operational even during seismic events, where continuity of care and integration between critical functions become central design drivers. In Urbino, the same approach is translated into a different context, shaping a flexible healthcare facility that connects services, users and territory in a more coordinated way.

More than individual projects, these experiences reflect a new approach to healthcare design, where the organization of care revolves around the patient, and the built environment follows this logic, enabling a cohesive, continuous and non-fragmented experience.
