Engineering one of Southern Italy’s most strategic transport corridors
The new SS106 Jonica is a landmark infrastructure project designed to improve connectivity along Calabria’s Ionian coast, enhancing safety, efficiency and the resilience of the regional transport network.
Part of the wider programme to modernise Calabria’s Ionian transport corridor, the project will contribute to a more efficient and continuous connection by moving traffic away from the existing coastal route and reducing the impact on urban areas.
3TI Progetti is leading the executive BIM design activities for Lot 1 on behalf of the 3AS Consortium, coordinating the integration of specialist disciplines in support of the appointed contractor, Consorzio Jonium, led by @impresapizzarotti, together with Aleandri Spa and @fincantieri.
The project includes viaducts, tunnels, underpasses and hydraulic crossings, requiring the integration of multiple engineering disciplines within a highly complex territorial context.
Activities are progressing in close coordination with the Client and all project stakeholders, supporting the development of infrastructure that will help shape the future of mobility in Southern Italy.
Stay tuned for further updates.
