Roma Contemporanea: a vision for a closer, greener and more connected city
What does it mean to imagine the future of Rome?
It means transforming the city while preserving its identity, reconnecting territories, services and communities through an integrated and sustainable vision.
Awarded third place and an Honourable Mention in the “Mobility, Transport and Urban Regeneration” category of the “A Vision for Rome” competition, Roma Contemporanea was developed by a multidisciplinary team led by 3TI Progetti with the aim of shaping a long-term urban strategy for Rome.
The proposal is structured around three complementary visions:
🌱 Roma Prossima – focused on proximity and accessible services.
🌿 Roma Respira – dedicated to ecological networks and climate resilience.
🤝 Roma Condivisa – centred on culture, communities and public space.
From the Tiber River and Rome’s major infrastructure networks to the transformation areas of Scalo San Lorenzo and Ostiense-Marconi, the project creates new connections between places and people.
A vision for a contemporary Rome: more integrated, more inclusive and closer to its citizens.
