Construction of the outer breakwater
3TI Progetti developed the detailed design of the third-phase of the realisation of sea structures involved in the construction of an outer breakwater. The breakwater consists of three segments, with a total length (measured along its centreline) of 776 meters. The new port entrance features a 375 meter long opening.
Due to the particular environmental conditions (strong underwater currents and undertow phenomenon), the new breakwater will consist of an inner core of stonework, based on a variable thickness bed made also of stonework to prevent spreading and/or dispersion phenomena.
