Municipal Library / ex ATAC depot

The construction works of the Municipal Library in Via della Lega Lombarda at the ex @atacroma SpA depot just started!
The building is part of an urban regeneration project called #cittàdelsole designed by @labics – located in the eastern sector of the urban area of Rome, between Via Tiburtina, Via della lega Lombarda, Via Arduino and the Tiburtina station square. The design of the library pursued two main goals:
– the desire to preserve the existing building’s industrial atmosphere;
– the wish to make this library an example of what a 21st century library can and should be.
