Nesima-Misterbianco Lot of completion

The Nesima-Misterbianco railway line projectis part of a large-scale railway expansion plan, which aims to connect the commercial area and center of Misterbianco with the city of Catania.

The station design derives from the need to avoid interference with existing buildings during the excavation phases, ensuring at the same time safety during construction.

This critical issue was transformed into a design opportunity, capable of creating an integrated and dynamic system of the entire structure, from the platform to the square. The core of the project is in fact a three-level underground station, oval in shape, which characterizes the spaces both internally and externally, defining functional areas configured not only as places of transit, but as a renewed and vital urban space.
