Doubling of the VIII Siphon – Casa Valeria to Ripoli Tunnel Exit | Tivoli
A crucial step for the water security of Rome and ATO2! 💧
The detailed design for the first functional phase of the Doubling of the VIII Siphon, between Casa Valeria and the Ripoli Tunnel Exit, has been officially approved. The project was commissioned by Acea ATO2 S.p.A.
This intervention is part of a broader strategy to enhance and safeguard the water supply system serving Rome and the ATO2 municipalities, ensuring the reliable conveyance of water captured from the Acqua Marcia springs.
The project involves the construction of two fully underground steel pressure pipelines, lined with concrete sleeves, running parallel to the existing pressure aqueduct bridge. The system will maintain current pressure and flow parameters while improving robustness, durability, reliability, inspectability, monitorability, and maintainability.
📐 Thanks to advanced BIM modelling, every detail of the new pipelines has been meticulously designed, enabling optimisation across all phases and ensuring a high-quality, long-lasting infrastructure.
