⚙️ Our “Design Stories” series continues with a focus on a unique and ambitious engineering project: the Fiumicino Airport Masterplan.
This ambitious project aimed to position the airport among the world’s best. It involved a gradual expansion with new infrastructure, significantly increasing capacity and improving the overall passenger experience through an innovative design. The project focused on creating an intuitive and pleasant terminal, featuring green spaces, maximum transparency, and panoramic windows for a comfortable journey.
With a value of €8.5 billion, and starting from 35 million passengers at the time of the assignment, the goal is to exceed 100 million passengers per year by 2044.
