New Cultural Centre Tor Marancia in Rome

Happy to share the project we presented for the competition for the New Cultural Centre Tor Marancia in Rome, with Ferrini Susanna architect. The project includes the Teatro dell’ Opera training Centre, the Community hub and an Arts Centre. The proposal indeed aimed at stimulating the sharing and sociality through citizens creativity and participation. With this goal, the core choice was to design the ground floor as a large playground that opens up to welcome citizens and the different activities that can be organized inside. The configuration of the building tried to mark out, but not isolate, two ‘lungs’ dedicated to the open-air activities of the Cultural Centre: the entrance square with the steps and the two covered platforms for the Training Centre, workshops and open-air educational activities; the green area with large spaces for meeting, sharing and socializing activities suitable for creative workshops and for the neighborhood associations.
