Brasov-Simeria railway line

3TI Progetti was in charge of works supervision of the rehabilitation of the railway section Sighisoara – Coslariu, part of Simeria-Brasov Railway (Paneuropeancorridor IV), strategic project running through the PAN European corridor IV which ensures the movement of trains with a speed of 160 km.

The Sighisoara – Coslariu section covers a total distance of approximately 92 km having the following features:

1. hydraulic piping and replacement of the reinforcements on all the lines;
2. the construction of 33 new bridges/viaducts;
3. 2 tunnels (401 m and 969 m long);
4. approximately 8 km of support works;
5. over 100 manholes;
6. the rehabilitation of some bridges, stations and the existing stops;
7. installation of the ERTMS signalling system (ETCS level 2 + GSMR).
