Expansion of The“Anna Rizzoli”Hospital
The project site is located near the ‘Anna Rizzoli’ Hospital of Ischia Lacco Ameno built in the 1960s and, falls within the ASL NA2 Nord district.
The hospital expansion will be set in a context that is both naturalistic and heavily developed.
The project involves constructing a new building to extend the existing hospital adding new wards, numerous beds, and a car park with 16 spaces. The new structure will have four levels, two basement and two above ground. The first basement will include the entrance, reception, and technical and service rooms; the second basement will house oncology outpatient clinics.
The upper floors will contain the inpatient wards and connect to the existing building via a suspended section. The project’s complexity stems from its need to integrate with the existing structure while being built on a high elevation area. These conditions require a reinforced concrete retaining wall to stabilize the site and facilitate the project’s execution.
