Headquarters for the General Command of the Port Authority
The project for the New Headquarters of the General Command of the Harbour Office Corps is located on the current site of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport and stems from the need for a new and larger logistical headquarters for the over increasing civilian personnel of the Ministry’s various General Directorates and the military personnel of the General Command.
The project consists in an H-shaped main building, developing on five floors and three secondary lower buildings, which respectively hold the multi-purpose hall and the one level curved, and the three-storey volume above ground that currently hosts the headquarters. In addition to various measures aimed at saving energy and non-renewable resources, the project has passive systems aimed at energy containment on the one hand, and the use of cogeneration as part of the new energy plan for the Eur district on the other.
