New Primary School in Bellaria

The intervention concerns the demolition of the ‘G. Pascoli’ and ‘G. Carducci’ Primary Schools and the subsequent reconstruction, on another site, of a new Primary School, consisting of a single building. The new building has a strong identity and is characterised by a compact volume and an organic, rhomboid shape, wrapped in a low-tech adaptive envelope. The project has been developed, from the earliest stages, in full compliance with energy and environmental sustainability standards, and the building, thanks to the adoption of low environmental impact solutions and the combination of passive and active strategies, has a very low primary energy requirement and is able to guarantee both occupants’ wellbeing and energy savings, achieving extremely high levels of efficiency.
NZEB Building: the energy performance of the building is at least 20% lower than the threshold set for Nearly Zero-Energy Building requirements.
