Restoring the Cupid Fountain at Villa Doria Pamphilj

🎞️New Reel – Restoring the Cupid Fountain at Villa Doria Pamphilj
We are excited to share a closer look at the restoration of the Fontana del Cupido, managed by Roma Capitale, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and part of the Caput Mundi programme funded by the NextGenerationEU initiative under Italy’s PNRR.
🏛️ Located within the gardens of Villa Doria Pamphilj, the historic fountain has been brought back to life through an intervention led by 3TI Progetti under the scientific direction of the Sovrintendenza Capitolina. The work included:
– Restoration of the marble surfaces
– Reconstruction of lost sculptural elements, including the statue of Cupid and twelve decorative lilies
– Reactivation of the original water features
The project focused on conservation, precision and respect for the original materials and design, ensuring the fountain could be rediscovered in full splendour. Watch this reel to see how history flows again from the heart of Rome!
