Unveiling the Restored Aurelian Walls

Unveiling the Restored Aurelian Walls

Get an exclusive look at the ongoing 3TI Progetti work supervision activities for the restoration of Section B of the Aurelian Walls, under the “Caput Mundi” program, funded by the NextGenerationEU initiative as part of Italy’s PNRR.

🏛️ Stretching between Porta Pinciana and Piazza Fiume, this vital section of Rome’s historic defences is being meticulously revitalised. Our work focuses on preserving the intricate material complexity of the original opus caementicium and brickwork, while addressing later additions. The restoration includes:
– Restoration of wall crests and arch imposts
– Reconstruction of eroded footpath
– Repointing of mortar joints
– “Scuci-cuci” interventions on masonry walls
– Insertion of steel bars for strengthening and repairing masonry structures

Witness history being brought back to life, brick by ancient brick! This project exemplifies our passion for design and people, ensuring Rome’s legacy stands strong for generations to come.
